I have a big bore srx top end on my 04 viper with srx pipes and once i hit about half throttle it seems like it loads up and will not climb anymore. Sometimes if i mess around with the throttle it will clear out but still doesn't pull how it should. I was told to run an srx cdi box, but i haven't gotten one yet, will the viper cdi make it do this? I changed jetting and still no help. Any help would be appreciated...Thanks

everything is the same in the clutches as it was when i had my origional motor with pipes, hauck helix and springs. It seems more to be something electrical.

I don't know, but it seems my SRX was doing the same,it would hang up once I launched to about 7000-8000 rpm.It wouldn't pull anymore, backed off throttle and pinned it and it clears.Anyways for me,all I did was switch clutches from my other sled because it was more updated with bushings and sliders,Now the SRX pulls like it should and gets there fast.Pulls ski's up a good foot at launch and carries them ski's until I let off the throttle.Didn't do that with the original clutch I had in there most of the sesason. And here I thought it was my pilot jets or something doing it.

I don't think it's clutching because it was running good before i put this big bored top end from an srx on there. Once i get above a quarter throttle it starts spitting and sputtering and won't clear out, that's why i'm thinking it's something electrical. I already tried different jets and that didn't make a difference. I don't know what else it could be?

isn't it fun to try to find a solution to a problem on one's sled.Do the obvious, start with wiring harness, cdi, stator, plug wires, plugs.Got to eliminate one thing at a time.If it is electrical, could be something simple or something that will drive you crazy to solve.Went thru that when my Tach wasn"t working.Traced all wires and found nothing.Spent a lot of hours hunting around under the hood.I had a dead wire somewhere, but couldn't find it.I had power from the CDI,checked with meter.I decided to run a whole new wire from the box to the last connection before the tach and it now works.Coughing and spitting..something is cutting out on you or a bare wire somewhere.GOOD LUCK.
