Out of all the mods you've done to your sled, what's your favorite? How about the least?

Pipes on the SXR for a killer kick in the pants. The tempaflow rocks for keeping the pipes consistant in all weather and temp. conditions. Doug

I agree. Im thinking that an 11/4 to 11/2 track should also be kinda fun too, its time for a track change for me, my 1" is toast.NY_SXR700 said:Pipes on the SXR for a killer kick in the pants. The tempaflow rocks for keeping the pipes consistant in all weather and temp. conditions. Doug

Sxr500 Custom built trailing arms and covers, Completely modified bulkhead...after breaking 3 from jumping (I will send pics!) O ya 2" paddle track for Iowa Ditch Riding, C&A Pro Ski's. I like them all on that sled.
Always have the stock Sxr triple to modify YET.

Yes, the track makes all the difference. My SXR rips as fast as almost anything to 90 -100 in the right conditions. I run no studs and I notice some stock vipers with the ripsaw can get me by 2 lengths on a good hole shot. It's all in the track. My friend with a stock SXR-700 put one on at the end of last year and he is pulling the skis all the time and loves it. It's like adding a second track it has so much traction. I am hoping to get one this year. I am running a 1.25 9816 now but would most likely run a 9921 or 9955H144 (144 factory drilled stud holes). Doug
I have to agree, that pipes....awesome, least fav mod hmmm is that possible...lol

I would have to say the viper shocks and seat on my '99 sx. The additional comfort feels like another 10 - 15hp on the trails.

Renthal Banshee bars. wider and taller, makes it feel like a dirt bike. first mod I do to any sled I've owned.
Oh least favourite... ice scratchers. I keep breaking them off and they jam in the track and its a 20 minute job to untangle everything. I think I will just keep buying new sliders every season. Its easier!!!

Favotire Mod:
9818 camo track by far is my favorite, made a huge difference.
Least Favorite:
Bender clutch kit that came installed on my sled when i bought it. It backshifts pretty good but provides horrible acceleration and top end.

Bolting on a set of PSI Quads (arm stretching power) is the first thing I do to any Vmax-4 I own.

I would have to say my suspension. I have a bad back.
If it weren’t for it, I won’t be able to ride far at all.

Pipes and clutching, always a very fun addition to any stock yamaha, especially the triples!

Re:
Not that I know of, I have had PSI quads on my 1992 Vmax-4 for more than 10 years (and 20,000 miles) and have not had any problems with the law. The PSI's are fairly loud, however they are quiet compared to my buddy's Reichards Quad Piped 1993 Vmax-4. I guess I will have to stay off the Wisconsin trail system since they are going to be anti-pipe people.

The best mod hands down are my Ohlins long travel rear shocks that are fully adj. Next would be bar riser and hooks. Maxdlx

I have to agree on this one, I had a fairly strong running 95 Max-4 but once I bolted on a set of PSI Stockblaster quads it was a whole new animal! One pipe per cylinder aint cheatin right?
