02 viper shock recall

Many, people contacted Yamaha and complained about how stiff , hard and uncomfortable the suspension / ride was on the 1st year of the Viper.
After so many complaints , (for PR reasons) (in my opinion) they had a shock recall. The deal was you could take your Viper to any Yamaha dealer and for (if I remember correctly) $198.00 you could have all 4 shocks (2 fronts 2 rears) Replaced with brand new (softer)shocks, you were really just paying for labor. (dealer said)
I had it done to both my Vipers, it was much better, but to this day ,I am still playing with the whole set up trying to get the perfect ride.
Not to bash Yamaha, but plain & simple, the proaction suspension sucks.
Though I am still True Blue!!!!!

Proaction doesn't suck - the stock shocks do. You really just need to get them revalved for your weight and riding style and be sure to adjust the suspension correctly so you have the proper sag in the suspension and gap in the transfer rods.

Also - different spacers for the transfer rods came with the recall shocks.

was going to buy a set that came off a 02 viper for my srx, these shocks were the ones taken off a 02 viper
