Well after owning srx's since 98 (had 5 98,99,00 and 2 01's) I just bought a 02 viper, Bone stock mint with 1500 miles. I had m-10's in my srx's and plan on installing a polaris or cat skid in the viper. What can I expect for performance? Should I do clutching/gearing right away to wake it up or just leave it alone? My srx's always ran strong but I clutched them. Thanks for any help. :2strokes: :2strokes:

Turk's advice for an 03 Viper was to use a Dalton 53/43 helix and "your done".

I used a Belmont 53/43 and it works great in my 03 Viper. I've never driven an SRX, but I was impressed with the Viper compared to my triple Piped SXR600. The Viper was amazing.

I have the 53/43 Dalton helix with the green spring at 60 wrap and the sled is very snappy. I have had it on for 2K miles and its great. Everything else is stock on the engine except the engine torque limiter.

Put in heel clickers with the right set up and you won't see much difference between an srx in speed wise.

My buds viper with a 1 1/4 ripsaw with studs and just clutching ran consistantly 124 on the speedo on hard pack snow.I know the speedo is off but that is about 114mph actual speed. The heel clicker set up correctly adds about 10 mph to the viper and blows away the 53-43 set up Exciterfan is talking about.

My first sled I bought was a Viper, now thats gone I have one stock 01SRX and one 98/01 SRX Ported(MRVIPER Cylinder/Case) 136" ExpertX and the only thing I miss is the looks of the Viper.

I wasn't happy with the stock track on my 2002, it really hurt the performance in my opinion. I added a Camoplast Predator and a Yamaha Torque limiter and it was a different sled.

Hi daman. No I am keeping 1 and selling the other. You know my son's getting the 96 vmax. I here the vipers are much better on gas. It should be nice since my vmax is still getting 8 mpgs. Is there anything I should look at when I get it?

Pup, I had 94 v-max 6 and was getting 12-14 mpg. I can't remember what mains I went to but just dropping the needle a notch made a big difference, It always had a rich blubber in the middle when stock. Cleared up with jet drop and needle drop. Hope we like the Vipers!! Enjoy.

I did drop the needle to 1.5 and still was only getting 8. I am going to try and change the jet next and maybe drop the needle to 1. I am looking forward to the viper , it really looks like a nice machine.

You'll love the viper coming from the vm,lots of power good MPG,great
sound.:)

just give it a good going over(clutches, skid, carbs, etc, etc.)

OK !! So Now I just brought home a real nice 01 SRX again ,This is the 6th srx and the 3rd 01 I've owned. All stock with 1650 miles. Now I guess I have an out if I don't like the viper. 1 of them will be for sale.
