I get 10 mpg ish down to 8 if all off trail. I consider that to be a fair traide off for the x-tra HP

would you guys say its a good trade off for the power?
with cpr/hauck pipes on the viper the best you going to see is 11mpg.The power is worth it.If you don't know how to tune I wouldn't recommend putting pipes on the viper. They can be reliable set up correctly. If you jet them spot on just hope you don't fill up at a place with bad fuel. This is where being able to check piston wash comes into play.

Well this would be a learning experience for me to do this.
But i'm always up for learning, and I like to tinker with things, and hopefully make my sled faster!
what would you recommend i should do if i do get these pipes.what would i set the clutch at? ect ect.

what kind of pipes are they?
I would get a rear heat exhanger and some mega power heads for better cooling and reliability.

It shows up as nothing.
go up to the top under search and click on advanced search and try cpr in the srx/viper section and hauck there the same pipes you will be reading info for a few days.

you keep saying they are hauck pipes. hauck doesn't make pipes. cpr made the earlier versions and aaen now makes the latest. if one of your pipes says "hauck" stamped on the side, then they are cpr's. if they say
"aaen" stamped on one of the pipes, then they are aaens. jetting and clutching is different between both pipes. we need to know exactly what pipes you have to help you out. if you have aaens i can help you with clutching and jetting. if you have cpr's, someone else will have to help you, cause i never delt with those pipes.

Benders make some power but they make peak hp at the timing spike so there not nearly as reliable alot of people burnt up there vipers with benders.

Can they be reliable if done right though?

i have the aaens and like em. smooth power curve on the dyno sheets. the benders jump around a little bit, but not bad. if i was to do it over again, i would probably run the slps. they make 8-10 more hp than the aaens around the 6500-7000 mark and make 6.4 more hp on the top end. people seem to be having good luck with em as well.
