Help With The Oiler ??????

My dealer is looking into it, but I was told that they might cover the oil pump.

We found a huge laundry list on items that were covered, and updated/ recalled on it. this sled has had 2 recalled mufflers. LOL

And I have never seen any other brands of sleds have worn out oil pumps. We have probably 20,000 miles on the indy trail (speedo cable broke years ago when it read 15k on it), and it has the original oil pump. it works fine
That would be an eye opener if Yamaha would replace the pump free on an 11 year old sled, but hey, I've been surprised before. Please post if they do, because then I should be able to get one too.

Those pumps were also used on many other oil injected two stroke engines besides snowmobiles. Motorcycles, boat motors, ATV's, and I have never heard of the problem that the Yamaha sleds had.

It sounds as if there is a place to look for all of the updates on a particular sled?

My dad asked the local dealer, and they said they would look into the oil pump, and that it might be replaced free under warranty. I will keep you updated. He has a lot more time than I do, and lives like 1 mile from that dealer.
yep, have your dealer run a VIN check on it. You will find a lot about what ahs gone into your sled if you are not the original owner.
