I have noticed after 1 hour of riding or so , I feel the constant continuous low vibration through the handlebars , I cant tell if its speed related or not . I was horrified to read in the tech center , it could be a bad crank. Its not a shakey vibration , its more a low "tight" vibration , I am hoping someone will understand. Ive only got 2000 miles on it . Any feedback would be appreciated .

I don't think it's the crank. The crank problems are with the earlier 98-99 SRX.
When do you feel the vibration? At idle or when riding? At what RPM or speed?

DOUBT ITS CRANK. CRAZY THOUGHT FOR GRAPES THROW ANOTHER BELT ON. SEE IF IT GOES AWAY AT ALL. 3:16 (yammie tony)
check your track for tears, inspect the chain case. Most likely is a bearing some where in the drive line.
A beldt with 1 or two clogs will give you a bad vibration.

I dont think its belt related , as I first rode it with a worn belt , since put on a new Yamaha belt and experience same sensation . It is hard to tell, as I remember its at a cruising speed 35 and up relativley smooth trail conditions . Vibration is most present around the 5000 rpms , as I just took the sled out and went around the house , seems like more a motor revs vib than motion , but still kinda hard to pin point. Slight Vibration occurs on all sleds a little at idle .

I know I said before , it occurs after 1 hour but , thinking now it is always there , just tend to really notice it after awhile . Is there a bushing in the steering assembly that could be worn ?

Im sorry Daman, but in asking your question , Primary is what ? Motor , clutching , I am not sure as I just bought it . I was told this sled has no stories. kept in great condition. It does have studded track .

Primary clutch, you may want to check into that remove it and check for
any issues in there and at the same time clean things up,one thing to rule
out if nothing else..

I think I have found it , I noticed the exhaust pipe 3rd cylinder on the right (brake side ) has a large spring missing . I can move the exhaust pipe with my hand back and forth , boy I got to get that fixed ......today let you know what happens
thanks

ok heres the deal , I found the spring in the corner belly pan under the "can" . The tip has broken off , but I have bent what was left to make a new hook . Now my new problem , where does it hook to underneath near the "can" I cant see it to reconnect ,

It should be right there, down, follow the spring rub marks on the pipe down to the belly,,you'll see it,it may be under the pipe some..

I got one on and noticed another spring missing ...? I cant believe it , There is another one missing around the can, I see the rub marks but no spring and know where of seeing where it goes , I think it attaches to the main frame , I see a couple of holes . I went out and rode it some more seems like the vibration is still there ....kinda ...hard to really tell until I got on a longer trip . Which might be ...ummmm....next year . but thanks for the help . Probably have to order 2 new springs and a set of exhaust gaskets between the manifold pipes and exhaust, they look worn out . , still a very nice sled ...

I hate to say it but I suspect your broken exhaust springs are more likely a result of the vibration, not the cause of it. Any constant vibration plays hell with springs - and other components, for that matter. All snowmobiles vibrate to a certain degree due to inherent imbalances, but you should not feel it in the handlebars. If you don't find anything notable from the suggestions already made, you should also pull the skidframe (track suspension) and check for bent or flat spots on wheels, as well as the drive sprocket shaft to ensure it runs true.

yea , your right. I might be forced to taking it to the dealer, Because I am limited in my knowledge in getting things right . I know a little but not enough. thanks again

BAD BEARING SOMEWHERE IF BELT DID NOT CHANGE ANYTHING. SEE WHERE I WAS GOING WITH THAT IS COMMON PROBLEM IS GUYS BURN NOTCH INTO THEIR BELTS AFTER STOPPING ON A COLD NIGHT. TRACK WILL ACTUALLY FREEZE ESPECIALLY AFTER HITTING SOME WATER HOLES AND THAN SEVERE COLD. HAD A 97 700 SX DO IT. DROVE ME NUTS. ANYWAYS THATS A NICE SRX. 3:16 (yammie tony)
