how do you build one and what are the rules?any ideas would be great.

imp stk suspension has to be a stock skid.If you jump into prostk then you can modify, alter or change the skid.

Depending on what year you have you can put aluminum shafts on it to lighten it or even titanium. There's alot of extra weight you can take off with not getting caught by the tech.

I asume that you are going to be running on grass when you ask that question. The best thing you can do is put as much wheels you can in your stock suspension. My rear suspension in my improved viper weighed 84 lbs with srx shocks. That was with a ton of polaris and mini wheels. You don't have to put any lightweight parts on a viper or srx for sure. I had all stock parts shocks, trailing arms, seat, big c&a pro skis, 4 gal. of fuel and only weighed 725 on cosdra scales. I think I weighed 150 @ that time. Min weight in imp. stk. 700 is 750 lbs. Just wanted to give you a heads up so you don't buy any lightweight parts. When set up correctly you can pull some good 60's with a stock susp. With my 780 viper with that susp. as described above I was pulling 1.1's which is very impressive at that level. Hope that helps you some. Will be glad to help with any other questions you may have.

so one wouldnt benefit from slugging shocks or changing the position or length of anything?

i have just enough wheels in so the trackdoesnt hit the rails anywhere.remove the slides.& when it comes to light wieght.try to lighten up rotating mass.for example..the brake rotor, brakehub.other than those you can't run lightwieght parts...short skies aftermarket hoods etc.. & yes get your front & back suspension setup to where you have 2" of travel.thats a good starting point.
