I'm thinking of replacing the stock track on my 2000 SRX with a Camoplast predator track, either the 1" tall or 1.25" lug height. Anybody have experience with this track on an SRX? I am leaning towards the 1.25" tall lug heights since it should give better traction in loose snow on groomed trails. Thanks!

I have a SRX 600 and I put a 1 1/4 ripsaw on it. This is the first time I've run with no studs and I love it. Good luck

Will he have any clearance issues if he decides to stud the 1.25 track?

Yes I do think there is a clearence issue if you try and stud a 1 1/4 lug track, but I'm not a 100% sure.

Theres a few ways of handling it.
1.25in. track you will have rubbing issues with the front heat exchanger protectors.
-If you dont plan on studding in the future remove the front protectors so everything clears. If you want you can clear out the tunnel protectors to but thats all up to you, its not going to hurt anything as long as you DONT run studs.
-Or cut down the track lugs wear the protectors rub, thats if you want to keep all your protectors in place.
-If you plan on studding that 1.25in in the future you will end up needing 8tooth drivers to make safe enough clearence from the studs to the exchanger and youll possibly have to re gear it pending your track length. But youll want to leave all your protectors in for that route.
If it were me and I planned on studding Id just go with the 1in Predator with 144 down the middle and leave all the protectors in. Cheap and Simple. If no studs go with the 1.25in either remove the front protectors or cut down the track!!!!!

Thank you very much for all the information. I'm going to go with the 1.25" lug height predator track and will remove the protectors for the front heat exchanger. I will not be adding studs to the track. Thanks, you guys are terrific!

ExpertXViper has good advice. I have a buddy who just put a 1.25" pre-studded track (240 pins) on his 02 SRX and he has rub issues. He's in a real bind because it's tricky to cut down the lugs when they have the pin studs molded in - and he can't remove the heat exchanger protectors. The 1" with 144 studs is a great all-around solution unless you're prepared to go thru the hassle of changing sprockets and gears.

If you are not going to stud, you may also want to consider the new Cobra track. The reviews on it have been excellent.

There isn't much information on this side, but if you go to the 4 stroke forum and search for cobra you will find quite a bit of feedback.
