running the gun


We just geared the SRX a bit taller.. It was geared pretty low for an all out speed pass. Last run was 122 in 2600-2800 ft Totally ran out of gear with 113mph gearing at 1 to 1.. I had a hard time to believe it would run that kind of overdrive with stock Yami clutches... Looking for 125 but I don't think it will get there without perfect conditions and a bit of luck...
 
JABBER , yamaha clutches run 5% overdrive stock if your pulling the full gear ratio , so when you do the calculation
try this, i am closer to reality using this formula so far...I have screwed around with this for years and this is close,, of course there are lots of variables..If your out of gear you should see the tack start climbing also , never happen to me yet......lol...need more powerrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

sounds like fun. if there is some traction i will come with the sxr and the war. i really want to try out the sxr with the wide front end kit my brother built on it.

if you really want to try a viper harness i can bring my brother's 02 but it is long tracked so it is not as fast as it used to be.
 
Hoping to get out this afternoon just to do a bit of testing.. If things flaten out with the warm afternoon sun we may get OK conditions tomorrow morning.. Let me know if you decide to go out..
 
HI maim i went out on witson and its a waste of time , my belly pan was dragging snow everywere not to mention the 2ft. snow drifts. Hows the lake at your place ...? Even if tis +10 all week the ice is sheltered by the snow now and it may go to next weekend ..Jabber called me around 1ish , and he said he was gona go check skead bay on whanapatiei lake .and call me back but its 4.18 and no call yet so it must be the same there ....keep in touch ......damn snow
 
well here in the back of the house, whitewater has about 4" of snow atm. just got in from garage. tore down my xt350 for someting to do. i cannot get onto the lake from here as the creek has raised the ice up so it is ready to come in the yard whitch is about 1-1.5' above normal height. didnt leave the house so i do not know how it is at the landing. didnt look too bad there on fri when i pulled buddys truck out but was still snowing when i did that at 1pm.

I didn't make it out to the lake today.. I will be heading out to Skead bay tomorrow. Hoping conditions are good.. Hope to see some of you guys out there, trying to be on the lake by 10:00..
