Heres the scoop, bought a 2000 sxr 700 that had slp pipes on it, for my wife. Removed the pipes and tempra flow because I just want a completely stock sled for her. Jetted back to 143.8,142.5,142.5 on the mains and back to 45's on the pilots. My problem is the sled won't come down to a idle from 3-4000rpms for about 20-30 seconds then it will drop to normal idle after that. I also get a backfire every once in a while. Don't know if its dumping to much fuel or what. I would assume there was carb changes done for the tempra flow also. The guy I bought this sled from knows nothing about how it was set up, dealer did it for him. Anybody got any ideas where to start? Thanks

Yup your probably lean on the idle circut, turn out 1/4 to 1/2.

Good deal, I'll try this. If I read it right in the tech papers stock is 1.5 out. By this do they mean run the screws all the way in and then back them out?

if the advice that the other fellas fail but i dont think it will, a longshot may be that the timing is bumped a little for the pipes , it seems to hang on iddle and even back fire when the timing is advaced ...

be sure to block off vacuum source for TempaFlo if is to be removed... usually found on top of PTO carb.. leaving it open will give you a lean condtion on that cylinder...

Blocked the vent hole on the center carb, so I don't think thats the issue. But thanks for the input.

Well took your advice and it worked, sled runs like a dream. Thanks for the help guys. This site rocks. Thanks TY
