Anyone do any shooting in the Summer?

Just curious how many guys are really into shooting. I'm a bit more into shooting than riding my sled. I know, I know, that's not the thing to say here. I'm getting serious into pistol shooting. I've been doing it for 7 years since I was fourteen. I'm really into the 1911 platform. In the past two years I've invested in a Nighthawk Dominator and a Kimber Eclipse. Averaging 3" groups at 25 yards. A little bit of skeet shooting here and there. Just curious about who's into making some noise. Drew.
 
I do a bit of trap shooting in summer. I never got into competitive rifle/ pistol shooting. There have always been too many other things to do in summer for me.
 
No pistol purchuse's for me for a few years due to ignorance in my teens but I still make it out to the range and property with my dads S&W .44mag and a few that are being held for me. I practice mostly with my Tikka T3 Lite .270 and Ruger Semi Auto .44mag Carbine, the ones that matter when deer season comes.
 
My favorite gun right now is my Weatherby Accumark chambered in .257WBY Mag. Way, way sub MOA with Barnes TSX's or Nosler Accubonds. Critters never see you comming, whop....lights out. I also own a Weatherby Mark 5 chambered in .300 wby mag, Bennelli SBE and Nova, Glock 22, and several others.
 
summer is my time to get ready for deer season. I'll break out the bow next month and shoot 3-4 times a week. Then in july I'll break out the shot guns and rifles to shoot them.
 
Venom, I would hate to be the guy who broke into your house! I don't shoot as much as I would like, I want to get a pistol, but have not done it yet. My family is heading to Argentina this June for a dove hunt. We will be shooting over 500 rounds a day so I am heading out to the sporting clays course to pratice up trying to get out once a week, but this weather, check out the weather for northern wisconsin today they are talking over a foot in most places, Al's global warming is killing me.
 
Viper Treats-I hope no one breaks into my house so I won't have to use my toys. Though if I had to, there's always one in the chamber (of course locked in a pistol safe).

Cacsrx1-It's nice to see another Weatherby connoisseur. I love Weatherbys. I've got a pair of accumarks also. One chambered in the 30-378 and 270 wby. I'll agree with them being way sub moa. Two years ago on an elk hunt in Colorado, the guide thought I was nuts using the 30-378. He said it was too much gun. After taking an elk down at a hair over 400 yards, he was bit impressed.

It's said to say, I've got enough invested in firearms to pay for my college career. I've figured that other than land, firearms are the next best investment. Although I'd never part with any of them.
 
I enjoy shooting, but I am not into it hardcore or anything. Every fall I shoot a box or 2 out of the Remington BDL .270 to ensure its sighted in, I also have the oppertunity to Fire my fathers Weatherby Mark V chambered in 7mm, and a few other rifles.

Always have fun doing it tho.
 
I don't shoot my BIG-bore as much as I like, but since it's $4/round now, it gets pricey fast! The gun clubs don't let me in much anymore either. :dunno: :die:

I still get the small stuff out and plink around though. ;)!

I use to shoot trap but one of my team mates got killed in a vehicale accident and haven't shot trap since.

I wont own any other hi-power... Weatherby all the way. A flat shooting weatherby, range finder , a scope with target turrents, a memorized ballistic chart....you can kill anything from a long, long distance.
 
I have been very impressed with my ruger M77 mkII All weather 7MM rem mag, that I really don't have any need to buy a different gun. I got a buck 4 years ago at 300 yrds, and I hit it exactly where I was aiming. but overall, I am a browning guy....

I love my gold hunter 3.5" 12gauge. It is still the only 3.5" autoloader light and nimble enough to use as a grouse gun. All the others are heavy, too slow to point, and look like military items. Maybe the new beretta 392 or whatever Urika might be an option, but my gold hunter has given me a ton of use, with no issues.
 
I just have the 3" gold hunter, but I love it. I agree with them being light and nimble. On pheasant hunts it's a toss up between my Browning or Benelli Legacy. The Browning I'm not afraid to get a little dirty, Benelli's more of a safe queen. Beretta's are nice guns. My dad picked up a Xtrema 2 this spring, It's a pretty nice gun. All synthetic, it's a pretty nice goose gun. Seems like it could take a beating and still run good. Time will tell though.

yeah, I think that my only issue with the xtrema was that it only came in synthetic stocked versions at the time of its release. I just don't llike the plastic looks for upland bird hunting. I could solve this dilemma by buying a second shotgun;)

but that will wait until I get my house...
 
I shoot a Thompson Contender carbine with a Fox river .223 bull barrel with a Leupold fixed 12x varmint scope. Until I gained a sense of the value of life I liked to knock the heads off 'chucks but now mostly just steel silouettes. I hand loaded many recipes, some real good, some wild. I found for the most part the white box winchester 40gn hollows, for about .20 each, are the best "bang for the buck"! My bud wanted to prove it was a good deer round, I said no way. He shot it in the eye at 60 yds. A long drag...
 
I am into shooting smg's. I have few to work with. It gets very expensive very fast. Ammo has gone through the roof since china and the war. Just wondering if anyone else shoots or has any smg's.
 
Referring to AR's and such? I've got a Bushmaster set up with a nice Trijicon ACOG. Blast to shoot, but like you said way to expensive. Costs too much to be just blasting all the time. Every once in a while let loose, but pistols seem to have me saving a bit. Choose my shots more wisely.
