hey
i was just concerned about my rpm 's and just wondering if it is normal. i rev at 8500 rpm and 9000 rpm on my viper. 9000 when racing or ridin on hardpack snow and 8500 when climbing in deep snow! is this normal?

8500-8600rpm is where you want to stay on a stock viper

I have some motor mods, Boysen Reeds, Peak Heads &CPR Simmons triple pipes and I run between 9100-9200rpm to be in my powerband on my 2004 MNT Viper.

With a stock pipe you want to be at 85-86. With my SLP's, my peak hp is at 89. I also overturn on the trail, about 92. I don't mind, because when it's pointed up hill in powder it sucks back down into the sweet spot of 89. I would say your fine, unless you would rather have it set up for racing and trail riding.

9,000 RPM will not hurt your motor, it is just a matter of keepimg your RPM at the peak HP point for most your rideing. Your set up is a lttle unusual so it is hard to say what would be best. If it is faster then stink, climbs like hell and works the trees at low RPM then leave it along. If your RPM falls off to 8,500 in the steep and deep, than I would say you need to add twist to the secondary (it is not back shifting fast enough).
