well if I brought my SRX into the family room,my wife would leave me...lol
i like how much more durable my srx is than my apex is. i was the first guy going over a tall plowed snowbank with the apex and rolled it on its side at 1-2 mph and broke the headlight assembly (300.00) it wouldnt of happened on the srx

I think all the new sleds are now built with cheap panels on the sides.I talked to a guy last season with his new Polaris, all he did was come down a hill on the river bank, his sled caught the snow the wrong way and his side panel door on one side busted and cracked. It was plastic. He was pissed.

I hit a v-shaped ditch that came out of no where at about 40 mph and my SRX(can I say flew).Well it flew alright.Went down and instantly shot staright up.The hood was in my face and I was air-borne.Came down alright and carried on.Went back to see it.I was in the air a good 35 feet before the back end started to touch the snow.Bumper touched first and then the sled dropped down on it's ski's.I have hit numerous times hidden holes or hard drifts. The SRX just keeps on ticking. It can take the beating. If I was going 60 or 70 mph..would of been a differnt story. The sled would of jumped up and fallen back on top of me and that would be the end of that story.
I actually stored my SRX in the living room of my apartment whike we were building our house..... She didnt like it very well, But it was only for 1 1/2 years.. Make it real nice to polish and work on...heat, TV,, food, beer all right there.. I loved it.

try lowering your sled a bit ,fundamentally the srx is going to corner better do to a lower c.o.g. .I bet the apex can be set up too rail on the trails....if i find the right one this winter /spring i'll be doing just thatjkenosh said:i own a 06 apex er and a 01 srx and the srx jumps the apex out of the hole but the apex catches it. the apex seems to be alot twitchier on the trail, it seems like your always riding it, its hard to relax and just cruise like i can on the srx.

Thats the biggest reason i am still riding my SRX! I usually end up with a messed up sled every winter but fixable. I guess i am a bit hard on them and not very cautious. I`m scared to by any of the new sleds cause i know it will cost me a heck of a lot more money to try and keep them rideable for the season. There is no brand of sled made now that will take the punishment the older sleds do.
i have both sled and iwould say the srx would be way better in the corning just the fact its closer to the ground. i havent had much luck in the corners w/ the apex(last years) so this sled im going to play (dial in) alot more w/ to get it bettter for sure. bumps arent an issue though for sure.

I own both sleds, an 01 SRXand a 06 Apex GT. AS far as which one is the fastest the SRX will smoke the Apex on the lake with perfect conditions in 1000ft. now the Apex is stock with 144 studs and the SRX has been jacked with a little, 198 studs, clutched, jetted. When I go th the UP I ride the SRX during the week when the trails are smooth and the Apex when the traffic gets the trails beat up. You really need to own both!!!!!

I sold my srx7 last fall and now have an 07 apex rtx. My srx did corner like it was on rails. My apex pushed alot in the corners I found when I rode it like my ol srx(basically just riding/sitting on it). Now when I get up on the bars of my apex and want to ride hard I can get it to corner almost as good as my srx did. You just have to be VERY aggressive in the turns. I weigh 220, so that helps when I throw my weight into the corners. I also hang off alot in the corners on the apex. My buds think I'm a little nuts with my helmet within inches of trees some time goin 60-70-80 mph, but I think its fun. I suprised myself last year how hard I could go when I really tried and worked at it in the corners. They are totally different animals. I do miss my srx, and am buying it back this fall. Way too much sled for the guy who bought it off me.
Cheers,
Rick.
