I'm looking at getting a new track for my '02 Viper. I was thinking of trying an ice ripper by camoplast(factory studded in the end of the lugs). Haas anyone heard how the studs hold up? Also I'm not sure if I can go with a 1 1/4" tread depth. I dont know if the thicker treads will hurt the gearing setup, or bottom out in the tunnel or heat exchanger. I have original suspension with reconditioned shocks. Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I've tried an ice ripper, and find them as useless as an unstudded track.

i put an ice ripper xt on last year. I think it's an improvement over no studs - I also like the fact that I can run it without any mods and the weight gain in minimal. Overall I like the ice ripper on my viper.

Also - you will notice a big difference in acceleration and cornering with the ice ripper alone. Ice rippers are great tracks imo.

you should have no prob with a 1 1/4" lug 02 viper is supposed to be able to have up to a 2" lug on the track i think

all pro action sleds = 1.5" max without mods. (1.5 with no studs)
Thanks for all your input.

I have a ice ripper on my REV. and I think it would be a waste of money if you were to buy it because it has studs. I'm still able to whip doughnuts on ice no problem. an actual studded track is worlds better in my opinion. Im also running a 1 1/4 inch ripsaw on my SRX. I believe they come from the factory with tunnel protectors and those had to come off for clearence, but other than that it works good, viper is probably different anyway.

oz, remember both the tunnel protectors and the front heat exchanger protectors had to come off of my viper, when i put my 1.25" ripsaw on.
