electrolic carbeurators have been around since the 30's but the tech was "lost" shortly after.
"During the years immediately following his wife's untimely demise, Garrett and his oldest son experimented with a device that enabled a car to use water as fuel. Patented in 1935, the Garretts' "electrolytic carburetor" was demonstrated publicly but for some unknown reason was never marketed."
The rumor is that henry ford bought the pattent from Henry Garret for millions of dollars and told him never to do it again because oil and vehicle comapnies have always worked together and the common theory was oil will last forever.
The idea is legit but the legitimacy of this website is... questionable. But hey im willing to try it. Get a pool going then someone can write a review on it!
 
A guy here in Eau Clair Wisconsin made the evening news with the system that he found on line, built and installed on his Ford Contour. He and several people in the area have formed a club that will build and install the system in anyones car. He claims that his milage went from 36 mpg to 45 mpg with the system.
 
Has not everyone at one time or another heard the Folklore of (the old farmer down the road who bought the expermential 1955 Cadillac that was mistakenly released and got 80mpg......) Oh yea, some Big Bad Oil Company guys showed up at his farm and paid him Millions........... ! ! ! Give me a break ! The gas mileage of compareable vehicles from the 80's until today show very little increase in mileage and do you want to know why..... Cause we were willing to buy their Extended Cab 3/4 tons for Everyday transportation so, why put money into research for improved mileage ?
 
the idea is not that far fetched that the oil companies have bought expirimental technologies. a million doallars is alot to most people and doesnt even dent the oil companies pocket to pay it out. Small price to pay to protect your own assests. companies still do it today. Catch a clue vmax!
 
I didn't check all the posts , but cool moist air will burn
more eff. than dry hot ....HD engines use after coolers ,
inter coolers and pre coolers...Back when I was young ,
you could get 10 mph more from a Honda S90 through a
low lying area after dark then in the heat of the day.
Many Mod diesel tractor pullers use a gallon or two per
pull of water injected into the intake manifold....
I expect computer management systems could let us
use water injection in the summer . Heck , it knows
when you use reg or super fuel . But , I could see a lot
of frozen systems from Oct to May.

Wow....... The product claims to double the mileage using water and Gas. In My example that would mean the 2 ton plus Cadilac would have gotten 40mpg stock...... No dispute that using water for a cleaner, hotter burn for better efficency has been around for a long time. I'm sure with Todays technology mpg could be improved but, to say doubled only time will tell.

You'd be surprised what modern technology can do... yes, there were cars that got 50mpg in the 1960's and 1970's and the "big business" shut them up.. A lot of stories are true.. look at the WANKEL engine... UNLIMITED RPM..... A lot of theories are used today and have been used since the 1940's LOOK AT ENERGY RELEASE... The federal government has been using it since WWII!!! You'd have to understand the whole "economics" of 50mpg vehicles... Yes,, it's feasable,,but improbable..... It will cost too many people too many jobs.. And when AMERICA is fighting to hold onto the jobs that they currently have,,,, NAFTA sounds like a WORSE and WORSE idea every year it continues... So you see......... a LOT of this is feasable,,,but HIGHLY IMPROBABLE!!! Gary Oles nosboy
 
I don't want to go out on a limb with this post and I would rather not piss anyone off... A lot of CROOKED stuff goes on RIGHT UNDER PEOPLES noses everyday and we CHOOSE to turn the other cheek and NOT get involved.. Just like the MOB threatened people in the 1920's and 1930's,, BIG BUSINESS and OIL COMPANIES do it to people ALL THE TIME... LOOK AT how WAL MART treats the ma and pa shop that BUILT AMERICA!!! PLEEZE don't get me on a roll....... DONT YOU KNOW that the oil companies made the MOST PROFIT that they EVER MADE last year?????? Do you think they want to STOP making BIG DOUGH to make YOU HAPPY?????? Do you want to get into the whole CHAVEZ/CITGO thing??????? OH MY GOD..... People are buying YAMALUBE (made by CITGO) (owned by CHAVEZ) Who also owns a firearms company that makes ASSAULT RIFLES to KILL our american TROOPS????????????? And you guys are buying YAMALUBE?????? PLEASE BUY AMSOIL INSTEAD ( I cant believe I said that!!!) OH... don't get me started....
 
I have a friend that has a repair shop and wrecker service. His wrecker is a roll off on a Ford F550 Chassis 4x4 with a 7.3 powerstroke diesel. He just installed a similar contraption that has improved his MPG;s from 10 to 16. He is looking into becoming a franchise for the company. For the record, he is usually very skeptical when it comes to stuff like this.

He might have installed methanol injection (for a turbo), which is different then the hyrdogen stuff.

Nope, he uses distilled water and another component. I'll have to go pay him a visit and see. I could use a few more MPG's on my Powerstroke............

he is installing it on a honda..

Just think of all the reasons that big oil would have taken out someone who invented something that would but a HUGE dent in the oil consumption.

THey only make like a TRILLION dollors a year.. ANd see plenty of reasons to kill someone who came up with a car that can run on water.. or even partially!

I heard on the news that there is a guy who is charging $1200 to install these kits on cars..

you can buy the kit on ebay for less than $150 and it might take a whole hour to install..
 
possible engine damage

These systems are being installed everywhere and many people are getting the benefit from them that they expect. However, most people don't ask this question - "will the gases I am injecting cause any damage to my engine". Well unfortunately the answer to that question is yes. It is called hydrogen embrittlement. If you are installing this system on a car that has a steel sleeved or cast iron block then you run the risk of wearing your engine out prematurely because of hydrogen embrittlement. I won't go into the chemistry lesson but, it is possible for the hydroden being injected to cause an oxide like substance to form on the cylinder walls when not running. The oxide is not a bad thing but, when the rings scrape by it when the engine is running the oxide comes off and leaves a fresh surface that will interact with the hydrogen again and create more of the oxide substance. Over time this causes added wear and causes the metal to become brittle which is then prone to stress corrosion cracking and ultimate failure.
So, before you put one of these systems in your car, do a little web research on the system you want to use and how it will affect materials and ultimately the life of your engine.
