nice looking for sure. i dont have that much ambishion to clean mine like that lol.

Thanks for all the compliments , I know it seems like a lot of work , but I am a mechanic and this is what I like to do in my free time on the weekends (not all the time ) Turn on the tunes , grab a 12 pack of brewskies and start wrenching and polishing ! Now ,no problems in the winter,(knock on wood) just ride!
LET IT SNOW !

I would also like to install a seat riser on my 02 viper. How do I go about finding where to buy one & how much work is involved installing it. How much higher do you sit with the new seat.

True Blue,
I bought both my seat risers used through this web site in the classified adds, Yamaha parts. ($175.00 each)
The only place I know to get them new (if he has any)($250.00 each) is EXXCEL motorsports, (do a web search) last winter I talked to Aaron Exxcel and he said he didn't make them anymore ,but might have some by fall 2008.
As far as putting one on , it is very easy, 2 bolts, spacers, washers and plugging in your tail light cord. Very simple.
The seat rise is about 3 inches in the rear and 1 1/2 in the front. It makes the machine feel totally different, I love mine and wish I would have added them years ago.

Niiice. I've always liked the teeth look on a viper, mine came off once last winter and it just didnt look right without them. What polish did you use on the tunnel, and how long did it take? did you do it all by hand?

and here's my 2 cents about the seat risers. I put drop brackets on my viper which puts the seat in the same place as with a seat riser. The higher seat, along with a 2" handlebar riser, made a huge difference. I would without hesitation recommend doing it. The ergonomics feel alot better, and I think it's more comfortable. Feels like a different sled.

Sorry it took so long to reply, PC was down.
Anyway, I used Mothers chrome and aluminum polish on tunnel, I did most of it by hand ( you have to have a lot of clean towels & strong arms & beer helps too!) I used a buffer with a clean pad at the very end. (otherwise buffing pad gets black and doesn't work good.)
After removing seat and back plastic it took me about 2.5 hours on each side, just do a little at a time, it will get done and it sure looks sweet when its all finished.
Think Snow !!

I also agree with you that the teeth add at least 10 HP.( I have had mine on about 5 years and they have never fallen off)
