i took my pro-action out of my srx and found cracks on the front a-arm that i welded last winter so instead of fixing it i bought a pro x out of a 02 for 200.00, i figure with the clicker shock it should make for a better ride and less maintenence. has anyone here put a pro x in a srx? ive read alot about edge skids but no pro x skids

On the smooth trails it will probably ride a little rougher than the Pro-Action as the Pro-X skid is stiffer than almost all other production skids. You won't believe the difference in the bumps and jumps though. Bumps that you shyed away from on the Pro-Action will look small once you get used to the Pro-X skid. I don't have one in a SRX as you can tell, I own a Pro-X. The '02 skid is probably even stiffer than my '03.

I have the measurments some where from my warrior install. I'll look them up for you today. It was on jb shocks web page some where. Maxdlx

for the pro x install drop the front hole 5/8 of an inch father down in the tunnel, or 5/8 inch closer to the bottom of the running boards, it will make it work better. maxdlx

Hey Maxdlx , why do you suggest dropping the front holes 5/8" ? I hope to have a pro-x skid this weekend to put in my srx , I think if I can get it to ride better it will become a trail sled again

if you mount it in the stock location it transfer way to much, nd rides rougher. The polaris pro x owners do it too. it gets the skid leveler, and the ride improves. It isn't any thing like a pro action, so don't be worried about giving up siome weight transfer. you can live with out some with this skid. Maxdlx

Thanks for the info , so go by the dimentions on the drawing , just drop the front 5/8" lower ? Hey will they still lift the skis ? Is it worth the swap ? I am putting the stock track from my xcsp 600 under also , should get better traction.

It will lift the skis if you set it to. It has a lot of adjustment. Mine set the way I like it will carry the skis about 6 inches off of the ground on a nose heavy rx warrior. I am at medium transfer right now, for better ride. Maxdlx

Just picked up my pro-x skid tonight , got a great deal. It is out of a 2002 pro-x 800. It has walker evans shocks that were rebuilt and revalved to ride alittle easier. Hey Maxdlx do you have any suggestions for a starting point at setting up the suspension ? If it matters I weigh 220 lbs.

i picked up my pro x also, it doesnt have walker evans shocks though i got the ride fx with the clicker. im tearing it all apart to powdercoat the a arms and polish the rails and still tring to decide if i go stock 121 or 8 tooth drivers and 1 1/2 136

heres some great info for the pro x

I had to get the .405 torrsion bars for mine, the .375 weren't enough, but I weigh 300 too. You can also get a aluminum adjuster block that has a 4th side for an overload setting. If that isn't enough move the rear scicoor arm to the rear most hole on the rail, it will stiffen up the skid a bunch. maxdlx
