Guys, I need to know the width of the 1998 yamaha SRX headlight at the top closest to the windshield. Thanks.

I also am not sure, but are the windshields interchangeable from a 2001 to a 1998, or are they slightly different?
 
Don't have a measuemrnt for a 98-99 but the winshields are different between a single headlight a and a dual.
 
hey just measured mine and from corner to corner at top of headlight is between 9 and 9 1/4 inches ......you trying to use a 98 windsheild on a 01 ? or trying to use the guage pod from a single light with a twin bulb light ....

I'm sure if you go from a single to a twin bulb headlight or winshield you have to change it all gage pod, light, windshield

What I am trying to do is run a narrower headlight. The way this hood is built, it covers most of the 2000 headlight, but not all of it at the top. I was hopeing that a 1998 pod and headlight would be narrow enough so you wouldn't see the light at all.

I want to run a 2001 windshield on it because it has to have a black windshield, just like that on a 2001. Are the black windshields available for a 1998 style pod?

i belive a dark smoke is avilable for the 98 ...but i havent seen a soild black ...mine has a black one but it was painted soild with spray paint ....if you are looking for onr to paint i have a low clear one you can have and paint it your self .....if you want it it is yours for the shipping cost ....
 
Just a heads up for anyone who's interested............according to my dealer, a smoke windshield for a '98-'99 is not available. Looks like i'll be running the '01 pod and filling the windshield corners. No biggie......just more work.
