How hard do you think this would be?
Thanks.

Be as easy as putting a polaris and cat in, IF you have the measurements. I see I'm not the only one thinking this way. Maxdlx

So I would need the hole to hole of the XTX skid in the Nytro chassis; what else would I need?
Thanks,

You would need the distance back from the axel, and the distance down From the top of the tunnel for the front hole. You then would need the rear drop brakets or drop brakets of some kind, and the distance from the center of front hole to rear hole, and distance down from the top of the tunnel. When I put the pro x in my warrior you measured top of tunnel from the bottom of the tunnel protectors, as the tunnel is deeper. I used a piece of square tubing and used it like a jig for the rear hole. i made the front hole in it very small and then measured back to the rear one, and made a small hole. I then made the front and rear holes the size they needed to be, and garenteed my center to center has corect. Hope that made sense. Maxdlx

How did you make sure the approach angle of the track was correct? I've heard 17° is the magic number there.

you get that from the distance from the center back and the top of the tunnel down on the front hole. You could change the disatance from the top to change it more, but would need to make sure it doesn't rub. Maxdlx
Way too hard !!!
You should swap the XTX skid for my Mtn Viper skid and save yourself a lot of work

did you ever get the measurements? I need to find a skid for my viper.

xtx skid is the same as the 05 mtn viper isnt it?
Why would anyone want to take the XTX off the Nytro? Isn't that the main reason someone would buy it?

I don't believe that it is.05mtnvipermod said:xtx skid is the same as the 05 mtn viper isnt it?
I got my XTX skid from someone who wanted a Mountain sled, but chose the XTX instead of the MTX because of several updates that were not on the MTX. He was going to swap the tunnel and skid for aftermarket parts anyway, so it really made no difference to him.Zachalyse said:Why would anyone want to take the XTX off the Nytro? The serious mod'ers out west usually swap skids on new sleds anyway. Especially when you boost to 300+ hp.
One thing to note on a FX chassis to a ProAction chassis swap, is that the balance of the 2 sleds and the tunnel design are vastly difference. I chose to match the attitude of the skid as close as possible to the one that came out ('03 Mtn Viper). However, you must keep the geometry the same, which is a lot easier with a 2-point mount than a 3-point mount.
I will post pics, and a discussion once I am done.

How well do you think the xtx skid would work as a more trail skid in a viper?

How about the Zx2!
Why not just go with the zx2 skid in a viper. Put one in mine last year. It came with the perfect template, no guess work. The best part is, you don;t have to remove any orginal mounting brakets, so the stock skid will still go back into the sled, when the time goes to sell it. The skid works awesome and really makes the viper float. I can easily go through 3 feet of powder and not get bogged down. Rides like a dream on the trails and easy to adjust. Best part is, it will improve your mileage by about 15% verus the proaction skid. No slidder wear like the proactions either.
