srx compression

ya we'll see how "good" it is this winter when it blows up lol. now for the important ??'s can i run this on pump premium gas w/out of fear of a burn down. i know i'll have to read the plugs alot in the real cold temps for sure.

WHAT AM I TALKING ABOUT ? I HAVE SEEN HUGE DEFFERENCE IN COMPRESSION TESTER,S , THAT WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. MOST I HAVE SEEN SAY LONG HOSE GAUAGES ARE UNACCURATE. GEE, DID NOT FIGURE I WAS NOT MAKEING SENSE. 3:16 (yammie tony)

well tony it really doesnt make any differnce right now since the same tester was used on both sleds at the same time and there was that much differnce between the 2. but it wouldnt suprise me that your right. this isnt a high priced gauge either. thanks for the comments guys.

what theory is full of crap? and i wasn't trying to be sarcastic or anything, when i asked you what you were talking about. i just didn't understand what you were saying. yeah testers can vary, but here 05vmax used the same tester on both sleds. 05vmax, you should be able to get away with premium, it just better be "good" premium. i would mix in a little octane boost or race gas at those questionable gas stations. yeah, its kinda hard to make sense out of your typing, when you can't even spell properly. :homework:

DEFFERENCE---difference
TESTER,S---testers
THAT---that's
UNACCURATE---inaccurate
MAKEING---making

TTTTTtoday junior!!!!!!

another thing you might wanna make sure jetting is on also. be a bad deal to blow her up. not sure if you are liking the fact that the head is cut but you could find a stock head pretty easily. be a safer machine then. i personally wouldn't worry more power means more fun.

HEY MOPAR1RULES, GUESS YOU STILL DON,T GET IT IT. INSTEAD YOUR PLAY MR SPELLING TEACHER. HERE I,LL EXPLAIN. OK, HE USED SAME TESTER ON TWO SLEDS. NOW ABOUT USEING TWO DEFFERENT TESTER,S ON ONE SLED. duh !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MAYBE SHORT HOSE TESTER WOULD GIVE HIM DEFFERENT READING. I DOUBT IT. NOT ROCKET SCIENCE. 3:16 (yammie tony)

kinda hard? i thought it was kind of hard! but anyway does anybody have any info on triple dynoport pipes for srx 700 such as hp gains, rpm's to run at?

calm down professor. alls he is saying is he used the exact same tester on both sleds. it doesn't matter what it has for a hose as long as he used the same one. did i spell everything right!!!! just checking

You sure you don't have some type of oil or lubricant in the jug? If you place even a little bit of oil inside the cylinder, you will raise compression significantly.

I know you stated that you were .06" difference in height, but that seems like allot of machining.

do the heads say 8dn-00 or do they say 8df -00 on them?

the heads can easily be machined .060" and the squish recut, although I surely wouldnt want .080" squish clearance.

Also as mentioned if oil is squirted in the cylinders first the compression will jump up quite a bit.

ya im sure theres nothing in there since ive had it running serval times since we the carbs cleaned. granted my tools arent the best, but checking between the 2 sleds it was on the gauge .06.
got a friend coming over w/a bore gauge to check to see if its been bored and i'll let you know.

ok you know theres no oil or anything else to bump the compression as i had it started again today. i had my friend bring his bore tool up to check and we know its the stock bore (69mm) w/ shaved heads. yes they are the 700 heads w/ the pn# 8dn.

ok here a couple of pics (bad i now) of the pipes. do any of you guys know anything about them??

yes, 600 heads can be made to fit a 700 if you want alot of compression.

Those are power inc pipes going into a dyno port silencer. the power inc pipes are lighter then stock, but the hp gain from them isnt really anything giant, youll find the performance to kinda jump around because they dont stay a steady temp from the lack of insulating shields. Yours are ceramic coated which is a plus, that helps keep some of the heat inside of the pipe, as if the center pipe core temps drops, you lose rpm from the engine. Alot of guys use insulating wrap on the pipes from mid head pipe thru the belly of the pipe to help keep them more consistant. The the pipes work with the stock muffler or any aftermarket noise maker. The silencers just make alot of noise if your into that kinda thing, they dont add any power.

Just about impossible to outperform the stock srx pipes, hp wise. The engineers did thier homework on them. You can gain hp with a set of bender big bore pipes on a race engine but for a trail sled or even mild lake racer the stock ones perform the best with the insulated heat shields.
