Sounds like a good deal to me, just remember that year is the short travel skids. So if you want to long travel it your going to be doing some work on it. Other than that I would go check it out and see what it looks like in person.

Thanks
That will be a twin as well so it won't get the mileage of a triple. I ran a 600 sx for a couple years. It was an alright sled.

My gut instinct is to still hold off and get a triple on the mileage aspect alone. I do more trail riding than anything and "on the gass, off the gas, on the gas" takes it's toll on the petrol. I have seen triples for a few hundred dollars more. They aren't SRX's, but like I said, I ride trails mostly and I'm not racing other than the occasional jaunt on the ice with pals. I don't know if the Ohlins are a huge improvement over stock or an improvement at all. I know I don't want to have to rebuild the shock every 500 miles like Arctic Cat apparently has to do.
Another question might be how to make my Exciter come out of the hole better. I don't want to sink much into that sled as it's a 91 and runs great. I just don't like getting spanked by a 440 . . . ok, so I do like to race a little bit!

Ohlins are a nice shock. Had them in the rear on one sled. They are a huge step up over the stock gas shocks. The thing with the 600 twin is that you are pretty much stuck with it once you get. Not much aftermarket support on the motor for mods. The red head tripple is as reliable as a steel anvil, respondes well to mods, and are fairly cheep anymore. The srx (blue head) is different with the power valves and factory triple pipes, but makes a great trail sled too. I greatly prefer my srx over the sx I had before. Of course they cost more as they seem to be in much higher demand.

Yeah, I've seen the SRX's going for a steeper price than I want to pay. I'm trying to keep my fun below $1500, and as I said before, I'm not going to "race" so I'm not truly interested in mods so much as I am reliable fun out of the box, that has some pep. I hate getting beaten by a stock 440 though . . .
