installing Anti-ratchet Drivers on a 2004 viper mtn.

hey guys

i got a set of wahl bros anti-ratchet drivers but no instructions came with it. i need to know where exactly there are located on my driveaxle. it is going on my 2004 sxviper mountain. anyone have the dimensions wheres it located to on the driveaxle? any info would be great.

anyone have like a chart to show me? i need to know how much to measure in on the driveaxle bearing side, the distance between the extroverts, and the distance from the extrovert to the end of the chaincase side of the shaft. this is for a viper driveshaft!
 
if your stock drivers are still on the shaft, measure the distance between them at the hubs, divide by 2, and mark as center. here we are talking about the 2 inner drivers as that shaft should have 4. when you press on the wahls they should be 2.75" off centerline to the inside edge of each hub, for a finish of 9", center to center. if you made the mistake of pressing drivers off first without any measurements, centerline is approximately 11.75" from the splined end of the shaft. or, you should still be able to see the lines from left behind from the stockers and establish center. hope this clears things up for you.
 
I have a diagram for Wahls on a Mountain Max shaft. If you can find out if they are the same PM me your E-Mail addy and I will give them to you.
 
MM uses the old keyed drive speedo the viper uses the gear and electric pick up so different shafts
 
shafts are only different in that respect. driver location is the same, drive shaft out to out measures the same. vipers are threaded at the speedo pickup, others have the drive in speedo connector.
 
Has anyone installed the drivers and noticed a loud noise from the tunnel area only when braking on their sled? Are extroverts louder than normal drivers? Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this noise?

yes i have, tighting or loosening the track could help. but the drivers are loud, the also come with a little bit of vibration.

do you run your track pretty loose? they told my buddy to run his track at spec to "break in" the drivers before lossening the tension on it.

We looked all over to find the noise, but it sounds like it is coming from the drivers during braking.
