you can run whatever weights you want to run.....you just need to be able to get enough weight to keep the max rpms down
so yes, you can run those weights. you probably will have to run a bolt w/nut & washer, instead of using rivets. can't go to big or wide, or it will hit on the spider. also, you will be able to run a steeper helix, cause of more power to pull the steeper angle. you will have fast upshift and quicker to top mph
have fun with your big bore project
one last thing, i would suggest using polaris weights before using the 8dn-20's. shift profile is a little more aggressive.

Do yourself a favor and find a set of 40-10 HC's. Load the heel and tip. 780's will lug like a tractor.

i hate 89a-10 for trail didnt be able to get a nice backshift

I must have done something wrong then

They are definately not the most aggressive weight but I found them to be mild mannered in the trail and have great legs on the lake hence lake\trail application. I am sure you cant beat well setup hc's as Turk says and also I have played with 8bu-10's and love them as well too as 3:16 says. Not to hi-jack this thread but I will be running heavy hitters in my next yammie this winter and will be setting it up for 1000' runs. Anyone use them?

you can run the same set-up but might have to change your helix a little steeper to like a 52/42.
The 780 has a bunch more torque.
I would run the 8DN-20's full of 4.5 gram rivets, www primary, 52/42 helix and green secondary spring at 70 degrees. should perform very well.

any one have a simone cpr 780 big bore for my 02 viper with all the jetting and clutching figured out to get some nasty power out of it over my reg 700 basically looking to bolt on and go will trade my stock jugs pistons and head towards it

yamaracer1985---look in the classifieds, like 15 pages in. there should be someone that has a cpr 780 kit for a viper that they are willing to trade for a stock viper top end. check it out.
tomseal--i wouldn't see the need to run a finish angle any shallower than 45 deg w/780 kit. like turk said 53/47, let that baby pull.
