Are there any kind of reasonably priced bolt-on suspension improvements for an 03 Viper? I had an 03 RX-1 previously and it was horrible!! What about Fox floats? I heard the rear suspension is really hard to dial in ect. Any help would be great!! Also, what gas grade should I be running? Regular or super? I will be using the Amsoil Interceptor in it as well. Thanks!!

There are a number of used skids from other brands that can be found cheap. Do some searching on here as there are lots of threads including install instructions.

Choosing which one will likely come down to what you want the skid to do well, and what you can find.

Many can be found for $300 - $500.

I am going to try the new Nytro XTX skid in mine. I am already setup for a 2003 Mtn Viper skid, so hope this switch is easy.

Ding, could you give us some more info on this skid. I have a 136 Viper now and i'm also thinking of doing something different. What track length can be used with the XTX skid?

I would also love to go to a 136" track but it sounds like alot of horsing around to extend the tunnel and redrill all the holes. Is there any kind of kit to do this? Lets pretend I know nothing about doing any of this!! :)

The XTX skid in the Nytro is setup for a 144. That is what I plan to run. I am taking out the Viper Mtn 144, and putting in the XTX 144. You could probably set it back and run longer tracks with an anti-stab kit.

The XTX skid has 6 degree tipped up rails after the normal 121 length. This helps it handle like a 121 on hard pack.

I swapped in a different skid on my 03 viper, I won't get to run it yet and dial it in until winter, but I have a thread in the work log section of this forum about it with pics if you want an idea of what is all involved. If you are willing to put some work into it, a skid swap can be a very good choice. Set up properly, they can make it a completely different sled. It's also a pretty low cost option if you can sell your used Proaction skid.
