is it common for the driveshaft bearing by the speedo to get froze up? i took the 2 retaining bolts off it and it wouldnt budge, then i esed a air hammer on the axle and that didnt work, than i heated it alittle and that didnt work so then i got mad and heated it alot and that still didnt work, so i figured i got a new axle with 8 tooth drivers and cut it off, is there a easier way to do that bearing? :whine: :whine: :whine:

i used a clam type bearing puller wen we 136" my brothers sx500r. i did all the same things you did and it still was not coming off. i have this puller at work for a job we do there. was the easyest way. better do the secondary clutch one while you are at it. brothers was bad too.

pop the 2 rivets off that hold the bearing carrier to the inside of the tunnel. pull drive shaft, press bearing off, clean shaft with emery cloth till new bearing easily slides on an off. apply anti sieze, reinstall carrier rivets, reassemmble, act like it never happened. alot easier than trying to get a puller in there.
