yea i know) i got the track hanging and the shaft is still in. do i take the set screws out of the pto side?? or do i take the spedo gear and stuff out too? and can i use 1.175 studs without taking the protecters out??

-Loosen off the set screws on the driveshaft bearing.
-Remove the 3 bolts holding on the speedo housing, pull off the housing, and remove the bearing from the driveshaft.
-Completely take apart the chaincase and remove the brake caliper.
-Either pull the chaincase as far from the bulkhead as you can, or remove it completely.
-Now you should be able to remove the shaft.

Utility knife?

That would be the easiest way to get it the rest of the way off.....but it really won't help you much with putting the new one on!

That's one way to do it. Reinstallation would be a bit tough. I wonder if you could sew it back together with some super fish line?? Make for easy track changes:-)
