I have a buddy who has a 1999 yamaha srx and his track needs to get replaced this year soon, was curious if a 1.25 rip saw with studs would work on this sled without hitting the heat exchanger up front??? do the studs need to be a little shorter then the lugs?
Hes considering either the 1.25 or the 1.00 lug track, need some ideas soon..
Thanks alot

A 1.25 track will rub on the front protectors. Either need to clip the track or let it wear in. There has been many discussions on everyone`s opinion on the matter so if you do a search you should get plenty of reading...lol
If u plan on running picks i would go with the 1.0 but thats only my opinion

I would run a 1" hacksaw with 1.175 studs.

Ran the hacksaw last year with 192 studs. Very good hook up on hard pack. My dad's SRX ran the 9818 (1.25 six pitch) with 168 studs and I felt he hooked better in the semi-hard packed snow. After 1500 miles no marks on the front heat exchanger. I actually switched tracks with him this year since he will be selling his SRX. (Went to Apex)
FYI - the hacksaw will also rub the front protectors.

I like the light weight and added traction of my ice ripper xt.
