I just got off the phone with Jason at Straightline Performance in Minnestoa. I saw they offered aftermarket SRX triple pipes. He said they did not have any in stock but could make me a set in a couple of weeks. He said they were originally made by Decker Performace and they bought them out. I said I was building a 780 and he said they could enlarge the stingers to not hold all the heat in the motor. Anyone know anything about these pipes?

On a stock motor? 155hp is not going to happen. They don't even make that with a typical trail port. Nobody has been able to make power on a 700 SRX motor with pipes without spinning the motor at high rpm. I would be surprised if this company was actually able to make power. If they did, we would have heard about them long before now, and I would have tried them.

i do believe this has been discussed before and someone provided some dyno information to back it all up. the only pipes found to increase horsepower over stock were the power inc. pipes. they were found to increase hp by 2-3 i believe, it wasn't much. stock pipes are more than suitable for even a ported motor. if your going with a larger bore, only then will it be beneficial to have the larger pipes. this is just going off of memory from reading the posts

Even on a 780 the stock pipes work very well. Bender made a set of big volume pipes for their 835 big bore kit, but not enough hp to justify the cost. I have a set of custom made Jaws pipes ($1400) that make horse power but they are on a race motor that rev's close to 10,000 rpm. If you want the sound of after market pipes buy a Bender or Power Inc. silencer, you will gain a little in the midrange and MAYBE 1-2 hp on top, if you don't want the sound stick with the stock silencer. Save your money on the pipes and put it into something that is useful.

Just quoteing their website. If these were Decker's pipes originally, they used to always have inflated dyno #s. I remeber their Exciter pipes were boasting higher #s, but when New England Dyno tested them they fell short. When questioned, they said which jetting was used. It wasn't trail safe. When tested it was to lean, but made the claimed power. They always claimed to make more power, but not at a safe jetting spec.

A stock blue printed engin will make 150hp.

Of course, different dyno's produce different numbers. I've seen the same motor show 12hp difference on different dynos. Final HP is just a number, and is not what is important when actuallly dyno'ing a motor, as you well know. :)

Lol!

I wondered how long that was going to take. I have been sitting back and watching......you guys were a little slow!
