Take the speedo housing off, held in by three 12mm nuts, under the secondary clutch. Then go under the sled, on the tunnel side and loosen the 2 T-15 set screws on the speedo bearing collar. Then slide the speedo bearing off the drive shaft..this sometimes takes some work and some finessing. You do not have to do ANYTHING with the jackshaft (upper shaft)(removing C clips behind the secondary clutch or such). As far as the chain case, I am assuming you already have the chain case cover off? Did you remove the 14mm bolt holding the lower gear inside the chain case? And also the 23-24mm nut holding the upper gear on? And slide both upper and lower gears and the chain out of chain case paying VERY CLOSE attention to what comes off in what order (different sized spacers and washers, and whatnot)
Oh yeah, make sure you loosen the chain tensioner before trying to take the gears/chain out.
Are you already beyond these points and just trying to get the bottom half of the chain case off? Be carful when you do take the lower portion of the chain case off as the brake key (small square metal piece about 1 " long) usually falls out, when you pull the chain case off.

i got all the bolts off of the chain case its loose. the jack shaft berring is tight and i cant pull it out any more. the 2 #15s are out. the spedo berring is still on. the spedo berring is next, i guess, and the brake key i havent seen it yet. im almost their. ill let you know when i get what you said done. thank you for your help!!!
There might be two rivets holding the housing for the speedo, if this is the first time the speedo is taken out. Take a look just in case, mine had two rivets holding it in. Plus the 3 12mm nuts. I just kept my bearing on the shaft this way on the speedo side.

You HAVE to take the speedo bearing off. You cannot get out the drive shaft without removing the speedo bearing from the shaft. The drive shaft will slide towards the chain case and drop out from the speedo side. When I did mine..the bearing was STUCK..seized to shaft. I used a 3 jaw puller to get it off and it ended up busting the bearing (just the outer race and bearing came out, the inner race was still frozen on the shaft). But after that I was able to remove the drive shaft and use a dremel to get the inner race off the shaft. ANd word of advise....do not use a hammer on the end of the shaft to try and pound the drive shaft out of the speedo bearing. Hope this helps.
