sx 700 cylinders on sxr crankcase???

Is it possible to put a 97' sx 700 top end on a 2001 sxr 600 crankcase??

Yes, you will need carbs and CDI if I'm not mistaken.....Not sure if you can reuse the exhaust system, I want to say no but check on that...

I sent the 600 cylinders in to see if they can be saved.If not,i have a complete motor from a 97 sx 700.The case on the 700 is cracked near the recoil but was welded.The case on the sxr is fine so i was going to put the 700 top end on it.I have the carbs from the sxr 600 which i believe are 33mm,so i just have to rejet them for the 700.I have the cdi from the 97 sx 700,will that plug into the sxr wiring harness? I do need the stock clutch weights and clutch springs for a sx 700 motor.Whats the difference on the gearing between the two?

Pretty much the same thing I'm doing. Wish us luck! The parts are on the way.
