I just uncovered my Viper last weekend to stare at it, so I had to check out the engine. I noticed that my collant is not at the cold mark... it's a few inches below.
What type of coolant do I use in a sled? Same stuff as in a car? Can I just got to Canadian Tire to get it?

Thanks for any help.

Yeah C/T will do

that's were I buy mine.As long as it says Aluminum Compatible,it will work. And don't forget to pick up some Water Wetter from them to.It helps to in cooling the engine better.Read up on it on the bottle.

Prestone premixed 50/50. It says right on the bottle "50/50"

I just bought some for my buddys viper, and its like $ 13.50 at CT. They also sell water wetter, its pink in a clear bottle and made by "redline oil". Found in the same isle. It works by reducing the surface tension of the water.

Its okay that your only adding a little bit because the best ratio is 60/40 coolant, so a slightly more dilute ratio in such a small volume wont affect anything.

ALl I have at home now is some Motomaster coolant. It doesn't mention anything about aluminum though... it's straight coolant and orange/red in colour. Says it for all makes and models, good to use with any colour.
I don't know if I trust it... what do you guys think. I don't want to harm anything. I'd only need to add about 2 cups to bring the level back up... what do ya guys think?

Anyone... safe to add just a few cups of orange motomaster coolant made of all makes of cars and trucks?

I personally dont like the orange/red coolant, now this stuff may be different then the OEM from vehicle manufactures but I know it will turn acidic over a period of time, I'd wait and get some green stuff even though that stuff could very well work fine. JMO
