I was wondering if anyone has any tips for modifications (gearing, clutching, etc) I should make before going out west this year. Everything in the driveline is stock, besides the 156 track, and i just picked up some slp ceramic coated triples, so i am not sure how to set everything up. Most of my riding is done in the 8-10,000 range climbing and boondocking. any help or tips are greatly appreciated. :letitsnow

they dont touch the ground anyway. lol, im kidding, what about some takeoff on an 08 xp, my buddy has one and got some simmons for it, if i could make them fit would they be better?

I would just pick up some Yamaha mountian ski bottoms and mounting bolt kit. You can re-use your stock loops and carbides, and the mountian ski works great in the deep and side hills!
For jetting/clutching with SLPs, if you go to SLP's web site. They have the jetting/clutching chart on-line for they're pipes. I found they're specs to be very close to ideal.

05 and newer Yamaha mountain sleds come with a wider (7") ski. They look very similiar to SLP powder pro's. 04 and earlier mountian sleds have a 6" wide ski.
The loops and carbides from the 02 and newer (6" ski) will fit. Kinda nice, since all you have to buy is the bottoms and longer bolts with the spacer collars. Instead of buying a complete new ski.
