I might be trading my sxr for a srx that has the big bore kit in it. I was wondering if it made it better or not i dont want it to blow up on me every time i ride the thing if i trade...

Depends on who's kit it is, how it was set up, tuning, maintenance, etc... There are lots of people on here that have been running bog bore srx motors without any problem for many, many miles. There are also some that have had some issues with theirs. I put one on my srx at the end of last winter. Hoping to be in the group that has nothing but smiles. So far so good.

you bet it does....some may run larger piston/cylinders clearances and those are the ones with short piston life. some may like to have the heads set up a certain way...maybe wide squish band, or tight squish clearance, or shallow or steep band angle, or what have you. find one that has lots of positive feedback and you should be ok.

make sure it's not a SIMONS CPR kit. stay away

Why so against simons?

From what ive been told by mr.viper himself is that you need to warm the motor up due to the wisecos, and other then that it is a very reliable set-up.

i had to get mr viper to go over my b.b.(after the skirt let go) from simons, not to mentioned it never did run right and no tech. support, not all measuments on the cylinders were the same. after i got it back from mrviper, she really rips now. yes i always let my snowmobiles really warm up.

Definetly let it warm up good and use "quality" fuel. A 50/50 race/pump if possible. Otherwise, just good fresh fuel from a trusted source. If you opt to use a can or two of octane boost, stay away from any that have an alcohol base (which most do). I know that Amsoil has no alcohol, and I have used it with good results. Also, most boosters have toluene in them, which is a major component of gasoline. You can buy a gallon of it at the paint store and carry small bottles of it just like boosters and save alot of money! Works better than most boosters!!
