I have my clutch apart here on my 2002 Yamaha srx. It's not the original primary. I bought it used last winter. Question is is there supposed to be a bit of play on both the primary cover and the spider when sitting on the clutch shaft?

play which way? just plan old rocking it, or play as in going straight out perpendicularly, from the centerline axis of the shaft?

Clutch is all taken apart. If you grab the moveable sheeve it wabbles back and fourth a bit on the spider shaft. The primary cover also wabbles a bit on the primary shaft. This is when all taken apart.
