I have a couple of questions I hope someone can help me with. I am replacing my track, and I am at the point of taking the front axle out. However I can not seem to get the key that drives the speedo out of the axle, and if I pull the bearing on the speedo side, how do I press it back on the axle with it in the sled. I dont mean to sound dumb. This is the first time I have done this. Has been smooth sailing till this part.... :yrules:

I am not sure what mount you are talking about? Once the bearing is off and I drop the axle . The axle has to go back in throught the tunnel correct?

Once you have loosened off the set screws the bearing should just push in so you can slide the drive shaft out. This bearing is not pressed on, once you are ready to put it back together it should slide on, the set screws and speedo bearing cap hold it in place.

its not pressed on but mine was seized to the shaft i used a 2 jaw pitman arm puller on it and it shatered the outter part of bearing ...but was able to remove shaft from sled ...just had to put a small cut in what was left stuck to shaft and take a big screw driver and hit it and it should pop off .....i haven put back in yet so thats all i can tell you

Triple X and YA*MA*HEAD Thanks so much for the response. I will give the bearing a little love tap and see if it comes off...My other problem is I cannot get the speedo key that comes out of the axle out ..Perhaps this will come out when the bearing comes off.?

leave it in there, if its stuck. be careful not to break it off if you want to reuse it. its a pain to fix if its broke off. replacement parts 8k4-47577-00, 8k4-47715-00, and a slide hammer.

Thanks Snowdad4 I ended up spraying it with PB Blaster and letting sit. The next day I gave it a little tug and it came out. Thanks for the part # thou. I wanted to order a new one, cuz this one looks slightli bent.
