E85
I am the captain of the clean snowmobile team at the University of Wisconsin Platteville. We have ran E85 in a 600 SDI for two years not. We used 14:1 domes with a aftermarket fuel mapping system and advanced timing. The biggest problem with running a snowmobile on e85 is not getting it running but making sure anything that fuel flows through is E85 compatible. E85 can eat though anything I swear, all the gaskets on our ski-doo XP fuel tank were leaking this year because of E85. Here is a paper we published on the snowmobile:http://www.mtukrc.org/download/platteville/platteville_ic_design_paper_2008.pdf

It is what the US govt. calls our savor from foreign oil, but I call it a croc, and yes its made from corn. I dont know where abouts you ride but I know where I ride there prolly isnt to many gas stations thats has E85 within 300 miles radius, which wouldnt be smart if your sled is setup for E85 only. Plus itll get worse gas mileage than gas, just like when its burned in automobiles.
well i live in the land of corn ...there are 5 refinerys within 75 miles of me ....not alot of stations carry it but there are several that do ....its about 1 dollar cheaper sometimes even more ....i realize the fact of it eating rubber seals ....so the fuel system all would have to be changed ....and if i had to i could fill cans if i am going were they dont sell it.......or there was a bottle of N.O.S. octane booster a friend had and it says it will raise a full 7 points so i was thinking if i keep a bottle of this in the trunk i could use it in a pinch .....also was wondering how good it would work when you run into a gas station that olny has 87 ..add to fuel and makke it 94 and safe for the srx ?

You have to add something like 33% more fuel to the air/fuel mixture when using E85 to keep the motor from burning down. It's not worth it IMO once you figure out the reduced MPG vs. reduced cost.
when companies talk about octane "points" they are tricking you. there are ten points for each octane point. In other words, adding 7 octane points that the bottle claims will up the octane of your gas to 93.7 - Words right out of SnowTech. They talked to some fuel company all about gas and mixing gas, octane boosters, etc.
