only replace if max rpms seem to be a couple hundred rpms shy of normal peak rpm, or if max rpms vary a couple hundred rpm.

My buddy broke his primary spring in his 99 srx on a wot run. i know his secondary is a bender set up, I think the roller rooster, but his primary spring is orange in color and when it broke its impossible to see the color marks on it now. if it has a a/m secondary set up is it likey the primary was messed with?
He bought the sled used with that set up in it.
What do you think mopar? is it cool to go with a stock spring in there if we are not sure what spring it is?

the stock srx spring (y/w/y) could and will most likely make the sled act totally different. i would be willing to bet that your buddy has a bender orange primary spring in it. contact bender and get a new orange spring for replacement. the y/w/y spring may work, depending on what rates the bender orange spring is. the stock y/w/y spring may be close enough to get you by. i'm not familiar w/the bender orange spring. best thing to do, is contact bender.

If it is a Bender "orange" spring, make sure that you take the 8mm spacer out before you install another spring. This orange spring is shorter in length and when used in the long clutch cover of a SRX, the spacer is needed. I believe the Hauck spring is the same length as a stock SRX spring, so you don't need the spacer.

Yamidude59, does your buddy have the 8mm engagement spacer?
Have the spring measured . . .
At rest height, start rate, finish rate, etc.
