What do you think would be the best set-up for a snowmobile trailer for a viper with stock suspension and track with studs. Problem is I only have 2- 15" pieces for the traction mat for the trailer. Option 1- cut 5" off of each one giving me 2- 10" pieces and 2- 5" pieces which if I put together would give me three 10" pieces if I put them together. Total width of each piece is 10"(picture 1). Option 2- leave then alone and just put 2 on. Total width of each piece is 15"(pictures 2). Option 3- Cut each one in half and have four 7.5" pieces to put on. Total width of each piece is 7.5"(picture 3(they look wider than they actually will be)). I know I could use a truck bedliner but I want it to all be the same because, it is a new trailer, not mix and match pieces together? What do you think?

Do you think 7.5" is wide enough though?

Use a truck liner, you said you didnt want to, but hey, nobody's gonna see it if its under your track, oh, i just thought of something, just popped in my head as i was typing, get spray-on bed-liner stuff on all the showing wood, it should work, wouldnt it? The carbides or studs wont tear it up, but its a hell of a time to pull a sled on it, unless theres reverse, oh man, you hardly even needs to tie the sled down with that!!! I dunno if you like that idea or not, bit if you dont, go with option 3, like srxbully said.

oh yeah, 7.5" is exactly half the width of the track, so some studs might still tear up the wood.

I only have 96 studs down the middle so it should be good?

your eventually going to mare up the deck anyway.just not as fast.yes it will be good for a while with option 3.i would add a piece of 3/4 in plywood under the pads(cut a piece 7 1/2 in by however long you spread out the mats.just a thought

That's also a good idea I think I will cut a piece 15" x 5' x 3/4" and that should help quite a bit.
Cut them length wise and make 4x15" pieces.

I can't believe I didn't think of that, yah I think I will do that it sounds like the best idea so far, and i can put the plywood under that.
