Got a litlle bearing chatter I see. I'm guessing one of the motor builders will chime in and let you know their opinion. If you end up needing a new case I think I've got one still at a buddies place. I haven't looked for/at it for about 3 years so............

My opinion would be this: Clean the aluminum off the bearing races, peen the bearing seats in the cranckcase and use a good anerobic(sp?) sealer in the bearing seats(really thin though).

I've seen a bottom end like that on a 94 Vmax 600 that had never been cracked open. Some aluminum 'welds' to the bearing due to chemical/electrical reactions or some such thing.

I have a good crank if you need it.
We need to clear up what is actually going on. Is the outer bearing surface actually etched or is that just aluminum transfered from the cases? It's hard to tell in the pics.
