HID's

I have 2 sets of DDM's in my truck. I love them. Im doing some testing with a modified set of projectors to make the light pattern perfect.

In a halogen housing, (stock viper headlight) i assume there would be alot of glare but the coolness factor would be really high.

I might have to try a set of DDM's in my viper..

I have the osram/valeo HID headlights for my silverado. Love them! I have had them on my truck for 9 years now and have not had to replace a lamp or ballast yet. I would just be so leary about running a true HID on a sled where you have so much vibration and shock, if you had a ballast go out or a bulb it's not like you could pick one of those up at any small town out on the trail. Yeah it's cool but not very practical for a snowmobile application.

I know the ddm setups are plug and play. lose a bulb, just unplug it and plug in the stock halogen. just carry one spare and you would at least have a bulb. I figure if yamaha is selling them as accessory setups, they must be working ok

DDM is about 60 bucks for a set shipped hi/lo, not sure why anyone would bother with sliverstars or spend 2-300 for a better set.
Dont worry about the bulbs going, they last a long time and you can still take your old bulbs, put the covers on them, tie them on the sled somewhere so if you ever do blow one, you can just go back to the old style, simply unplug the HID hi/low controller and plug in your lights. You dont cut anything, these kits plug and play other than power and ground from another source.
You can easily wire a battery in your sled, sno bunjy makes one

You would just wire it in in parallel with your smoothing coils or you could run it in parallel with your power supply to your ballasts.

BTV, Is DDM a brand? Silverstar Ultra's are like $50 a pair anyhow. How would you wire it parallel? Been a while since I've done much wiring other than in the boat...
