I just got my sled back from getting some work done on it at the shop and they told me they ran a compression test and it came back 95/85. The sled has not been run since February so it has sat for 8 months. When I put it away last year it had 125/124 for compression. Is it normal for it to lose compression when it sits for so long? they said it ran great when they started it.

compression does vary based on the guage you use however that is typically only a few pounds. Have you tested the compression your self since you got it back i am assuming you tested it last year.
Also if they tested it without starting it first its possible the cylinder didn't have much oil and such sealing the rings like you would after it has been started recently.

I haven't tested because I don't have a guage. I had it tested last year at a different shop though. My friend who i bought it from had rebuilt the top half a year before I bought it from him and I have owned it a year. It has maybe 1000 miles on the rebuild
