After reading tons of other threads on this, i figure i'd throw in my scenrio, because no other thread is quite exactly what i'm after.....
I am aware that the FRA has 3 settings, a, b, and c, C being hardest and A being softest.
I got Bender adjustable T-rods on the way, and when i put them in i want to mess with my suspension a little bit to dial in my suspension for my weight.
I weigh about 230 fully geared up. My FRA is in the A position, and i want to put it in the C position for a little bit of a stiffer ride, i ride aggresive trail....
Will the ride height Differ much at all with the FRA in the C position? like half inch or so?
And when i put my T-rods in i heard about the 50/50 gap in the T-rods with my weight on it? To get the 50/50 gap which shock do i need to add preload to, to get the correct (neutral gap) in the Transfer rods?
I think my Straps are almost all the way tight too as i have no ski lift anywhere, even out of corners accelerating... how many turns can i got out to be safe with out sacraficing handling but to get some ski lift?
I will eventually get to buying a tuning manual, and i will start tinkering with the settings once the snow starts flying, but i want to know where to start?
If i bolt the bender rods in and leave everything as is i doubt i will notice that i have adjustables in there? thats why i need to get 50/50 gap?
I realize this subject has been beat to death.
I want to rekindle the ideas.
Thanks again.
Joe

I would run the FRA in the center position for your weight. The position of the FRA will not change your ride height. The large rear spring is what is used to adjust and get your 50/50 gap. Where are your limiter straps set to now? (How many millimeters of threads showing) I would probably run 15mm of thread showing, but others may have a different opinion. As for the adj. transfer rods.. I would set them with three lines showing and set your 50/50 gap from there. When you adjust them up and down this gap will change, but that is a good neutral position imo.

I think next summer i'm going to look into a Edge rear skid... What year would be the ticket? off of a Xc 700? or is an edge skid an edge skid no matter what model it comes out of?
