Who makes heated grips to use with hooks. I bought a set of 06 apex bars to put on my 98 700 but my buddy needs them for his 08 apex. I told him if he bought me new grips and hooks he could trade me but all the ones I found jave covered ends and knobs.

I put a set of red J-hooks on my Phazer MTN Lite, they have the stock heated grips, i tested them after just to see if they still worked good and they worked perfect! I think the same grips on on an Apex, i know they are the same on my uncles 04 Rx Warrior LE, thats where i got the j-hooks from actually!

all you do is drill open a 7/8 hole in the end of grips i used a dremil with the sand paper drum and it worked great ...

haha i never thought of that, i used a utility knife and a chisel, lol, well, i actually did think of using a drill but i coulnt find the 3/4 or 7/8, 3/4 i would have used because then there is not so much chance of drilling on the end of the bars, there is some red plastic (well red on mine anyways) that i guess just extended from the grip heater, but my grpis still heat up, but use a drill, it took me about half an hour for each side using a utility knife and a chisel (the chisel i used to cut some of the red hard plastic than was harder to get at on the upper part of the whole, iff you know what i mean, but I did get them on, haha, after an hour.

ya i started with the utility knife but that hard plastic was tough ....and by than the outside to the hole was about rite sized and the dremel was sitting there with the sandpaper drum in it so i though what the hey ....plunged it in than sanded to diameter of the inside of the bars .....

ya that hard plastic dont cut easy with a utility knife, but my blade was wore alot to, i stripped like a billion pieces of copper wire with it, lol, but on the top part of the bar hole, if you can understand what i means, I used the chisel for some of that, it cut a bit better on the plastic than the utility knife.

Well my grips are already bad from rolling off the ends in corners so they must be replaced and I am just looking for smooth transition on the end by the hooks.
