There you have it, the Blizzard was a MUTT! It's not a question of bias, just the facts.

I can't speak to the reliability issue, because honestly, I never owned one and never really paid attention. At the time, there was no reason to pay attention, cause like Tony, there was no tailights in front of me. G.

No tailights in front of you? Ever? You guys need to stop riding alone, it's not good at night.

Tony, my point was exactly what I said, this thread IS about 1980 4/6's go read the begining, and nothing bigger bolts on to it.

HEY 800 FINE!!!!!!!!!!!! MY POINT WAS LTD,s WHICH WHAT THESE SLEDS WERE CALLED I REMEMBER BACK IN THE DAY WERE CONVERTED TO 550 INTERCEPTOR KITS. WHAT DON,T YOU UNDERSTAND. I DON,T CARE WHAT YEAR THESE THINGS WERE. THERE POOCHES. PEROID. !! 3:16 (yammie tony)

No tailights, that's right, not unless it was parked, and absolutely, positively, guaranteed, not any Kawi tailights!

The first tailights I can recall were a couple years after I retired the 540 and started riding my 93 750-4, and then it was my buddy's 95 800-4 spankin me!

Yeah, don't ride alone and don't drink and ride, you might hit a bump and spill your beer! G.

Those old Kawies were nice sleds, my friend had an Invader that had AAen pipes ,porting and carbs it ran good but it WOULD NOT run with my Vmax. There were a few 440 Kawies in my area, Invaders ,LTD's and 4/6's and I never seen any of them that could run with the other 440's, any SRX could walk all over them to the point that most guy's wouldn't even run against any of them, the Blizzards ,Eltigres, SRX's and Polaris's were all faster, in a short run they did OK but after that it was all over . In the Sno Goer shoot out they even said that the 550 was only good in a short run , the 81 SRX ran it down in one heat and it lost to the Blizzard and the Indy 500 in other heats , the next year against the Indy 600 and 9700 Blizzard it was beet then to . They had about 80 HP and the 81 SRX had 88 HP the 440 Blizzard had 82 ,so they weren't all that high a HP for a 550.When the Vmax came out it had the best rear suspension on the market ,light years ahead of any Kawie. And to set the record straight the Vmax engine was & is as dependable an engine as any sled on the market,as long as you maintain them properly.
