well here is what happened i wanted to "freshin up" the sled for this season so i got new pistons "spi" new reed valves "boysen" replaced every bushing in the rear skid and got a boss noss kit ... the sled runs fine but got in to it and started going all performance parts... it should run better now? i hope it was a drop of cash... does anyone like to go that way or stay with yammy parts... what works better? and does any one know where i could get a custom chassis so i could build a mod sled

i know what ya mean intial goal of this year was pure motor, but since then decided if i putting more HP down the brand new 1"hacksaw isnt gonna do it, so time to stretch ! haha

hehe. I have spent about $6K in my prostock this year, and haven't touched the motor. Hopefully that makes you feel better about what you have spent

To 136" 1.352" cobra with 162 1.450" studs from a 121" 1" hacksaw with 192 1.175" studs that i just put in last year.

Shoulda stuck with stock reeds & used Yammie oem pistons.

yamaha has the one best stock reeds, if your going to replace, go with stock, i know, i've asked and have been told that its not worth spending 300 bucks on a/m reeds, the a/m even have shorter petal life i'm told. same story with yamaha pistons

boyesen race reed should give me something more right? they where only $105 ... i could see yammie pistons would be better but yammies are 98 bucks a piston and spi's are 70... im running nos this year and will be rebuilding every season so i just hope the sled will stay together for one season

If you are running NOS, you might as well start to stock up on reed pedals now. The NOS tends to freeze the reeds, and they are much more prone to cracking and chipping.
