I just put heelclickers on a 700 sxviper.
I always read, "check the temperature of your clutches after doing a run". If they're hot then the belt is slipping. My question is how hot is hot? After about 3-1000ft runs back to back, I can put my hand on the secondary for about a second or two. Is that good? Has anyone actually taken the clutch temperatures with a Handheld Infrared Thermometer? If so what temps did you get? What temp. is considered hot?

Clutches will get warm after 3 back to back runs. There is no consistent temps. Try tightening the secondary spring or use a stiffer one. If clutch is cooler you are on the right track. If it is hotter your going the wrong way. HC,s generally need a lot more secondary twist hten stock weights.
