01 Srx Temp Light

Hey guys, just got the 01 SRX out of storage and started it this last weekend. Noticed the temperature light flashes 3 times. If I shut it off and restarted sled, will flash or may not. Any ideas??

It kept blinking. Flashed 3 times, than quit for a bit, than 3 more times and so on. Wouldn't stop as long as it was running.
 
There are specific codes for each flash sequence, do a search on it (up in the tool bar "search") Type in Diagnostic codes, if that helps

Searched here in the technical section. From what I can tell it is telling me "discontinuity of the variable resistor (thumb warmer) is detected. What do you guys think? Hard fault part or wiring?
 
From what i remember, (not much LOL )
The 3 flashes is the pvs cycling through a diagnostic at start up. I always looked for the 3 flashes at start up and knew my pv's were good to go. This is normal.

If I understand you correctly, at start up it would flash 3 times then a pause, three flashes and then a pause, 3 flashes etc?
The first thing I would do is pull out your wiring harness under the motor and check for rubthroughs. The srx is FAMOUS for it! My srx was rubbed through in like 6 spots when I first got her.
I am sure you'll get some experts to chime in on this.

Also check above the left footwell I had two rub throughs there also behind the vent. It was arcing out right above my left foot. Only noticed it b/c it was doing one time at night.

Is there and echo in here? Sounds pretty similar to my post there daman.lol


What did you find out iowasrx?
Have you pulled your wire yet and your pv's??

Yes, and it repeatedly does this. Now if I shut it off and start it back up, it may not flash again til the next time I start it up.

I have not checked yet. I'm hoping to tonight. I will let you know in the morning!
