nuts for helix don't need loctite, as they have the nylon inside the threads. you can use a little blue loctite on the nuts/bolts, that are being used instead of rivets on the primary weights.
Hi Josh, ya i have 242 blue loctite (medium strength) did'nt know if that was strong enought. Also should I use any molly-coat or lube of any sort on the bushings of helix or any thing else. & the nuts spin in freely till it stops on helix new nuts or loctite? thanks.-.bill//

you can buy some teflon dry lube from fleet farm. you can also get some comet dry clutch lube. its moly. you can apply either teflon or moly to the pivots of the flyweights and pins that the rollers spin on. if you have a stock button secondary, spray some teflon or moly to the ramps of the helix and bushing. make sure that you DON'T get any lube on the cam surface of the weight, or outside of the rollers. doing that will make the surface too slippery and then the roller won't roll on the weight anymore, instead it will skid and wear a flat spot on the roller. never apply anything like wd-40, or anything that stays wet. that will only atract belt dust. the dry teflon and moly, don't let belt dust stick to 'em.
thanks mopar, first time doin this work myself, so just dont wata do anything wrong. we'll see when i get it back together, heck gota git it off first. oh ya what presure should i set my aircompresser at in psi to reinstal primary with impack wrench. keep thinking of things,. haha..

my buddy has his set @ 100psi. he just takes his small 3/8" drive snap-on impact, and gives it 3-3 sec bursts. i torque rear secondary bolt, torque to 46ft-lbs. primary is suppose to be torqued in 2 stages. stage 1 (first torque) is 85ft-lbs. you then loosen bolt, then retorque to 43ft-lbs. the reason for the higher 1st torque, is to get the primary seated on the taper of the crank. have fun.
Do not use lube of any kind or loc-tite on a primary clutch!!!!!
except nut&bolt in weight right?
If your using a nut & bolt for added mass might be a good idea . I never used loctite . I also never ran em for a ton of miles either.

i also like to spray the clutch lube/teflon on the tracks that the spider's plastic buttons ride in. turk, what's wrong w/the lube? i don't use anything that stays wet....that would let belt dust stick to it. the stuff i use, drys dry and stuff can't stick to it. i can't see it hurting anything by having the spray on it.
The stuff still attracts debris even tho it,s supposed to be dry. It also does not last long. The best clutch maintenance is blowing em out with compressed air every few rides.

Even dry lubes soak into the porous metal like aluminum, when the clutch heats up these deposits seep out and the plastic buttons become a little sticky. I wipe these grooves or tracks with a clean cloth and then give everything a good blow down. Just my 2 cents.
