Splitting the bottom end.

97 VMAX 600 twin. I have the engine out and have a problem splitting the crank case. I have it split but as I get close to the water pump side it won't budge.

Any tricks? Do I need to remove the water pump/belt to split?

It looks like it...go to T.Y.home page @ top of site in the left corner & then go to the bottom on the left field & click on line parts source...look up your model sled & see the pic, this is what I do when in a jam...it looks like after you remove the w/pump there is a small bracket that need to be removed before it splits!!! worth you looking may help...others will chime in soon...cheers
